    Hello,

    I am currently experiencing difficulties while setting up the Google for WooCommerce plugin on my website.

    I am trying to connect both my Google Merchant Center and Google Ads accounts through the plugin. However, when attempting to connect my existing Google Ads account, I receive the following error:

    “Error linking account: Unable to accept link for the customer account.”

    I am not sure what this error means or what is causing it.

    Additional details:

    • The Google Ads account already exists.
    • I am logged in with the correct Google account.
    • Merchant Center appears connected.
    • The issue occurs specifically when trying to link Google Ads.
    • I have been facing this issue for some time and have been unable to complete the plugin setup.

    Could you please advise:

    1. What does this error indicate?
    2. What steps should I take to resolve this and successfully connect the plugin?

    I would appreciate your assistance, as this is currently blocking my conversion tracking and campaign setup.

    Thank you for the detailed explanation, I can see how this is blocking your setup, especially since everything else appears connected and the issue only occurs when linking Google Ads. Let’s work through this together.

    The error message, “Unable to accept link for the customer account”, usually indicates that Google Ads is not allowing the linking request from Merchant Center. This is often related to account permissions or a pending or restricted link request on the Google side.

    Kindly check the following:

    1. Google Ads permissions
      Ensure that you are logged in as an Administrator in the Google Ads account. Standard or billing-only access will not be sufficient to accept linking requests.
    2. Merchant Center linking status
      In your Google Merchant Center account, go to Settings → Linked accounts → Google Ads and confirm whether there is a pending link request. If there is, try removing it and initiating the connection again from the WooCommerce setup screen.
    3. Google Ads account status
      Confirm that the Google Ads account is fully active and not under suspension or limited status. Accounts with policy restrictions may block linking.
    4. MCC account setup
      If the Google Ads account is managed under a Manager account, ensure you are attempting to link the correct child account ID and that the Manager account does not have restrictions preventing direct linking.
