I have been using the free version of Filebird for a few months to organize my images on my personal weblog.

    1) After about a month, I stopped being able to update the plug-in
    2) When I downloaded the latest version in .ZIP format, and updated manually, it told me I had to autheticate. I tried, using Envato, but I keep getting an error– something to do with cannot-get-email

    Please help.

    Hi @dorfdimpaler ,

    Thanks for using FileBird!
May I confirm that you are using the free or paid version, please?

Because free version can autoupdate normally while only the paid version would prompt you to verify the code with envato.

    Let us know!

    Kind regards,

I am using the free version, but I fear I may have downloaded the wrong version when I tried to update manually. That may be the fix: get back on the free version.
Can you send me a link?

    Hi @dorfdimpaler ,

You can uninstall the currently active FileBird installation on your site and then download the latest free version from here again to use:

    Hope that helps!

That seemed to have taken care of the problem.

I went the better part of a month where there were updates to the plugin available, but I received an error when I would try to update. It said the file was unavailable for download (WT?)

    It’s fixed now.

    Many thanks.
