Unable to update wordpress

    Need advice on an issue:
    Whenever I update contents via CMS that has certain characters like ;&’*<>\ it will redirect me to the homepage without updating the actual site.

    If the contents does not contain the characters it does not happen. So other that that the CMS is still functional.

    Not sure if it is a unicode issue or compatibility one.

    I am using an Xammp.

    Please try to upload the new core files of WordPress by yourself. Back-up first your website and database before you changed something.

    Download the last version of WordPress from this website
    Extract the Zip/Rar file and upload the files to your server (without the wp-config.php, wp-config-sample.php, licence.txt and the readme.html).

    I hope this will solved your problem.
