I have the same problem. I tried to add media to a post. The first two images worked, the rest won’t upload.
I keep getting the following error message:
The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2016/01
I tried uploading a different photo, and that one did work, now, nothing!
Can anyone help? I’m a total beginner to this!
Try to check the folder permission
I’m sorry, I’m a complete noob. How do I do that?
Now, What is the folder permission for /wp-content/uploads ?
check using your cPanel file manager or FTP client

I would first check my WP folder permissions. It is possible the “wp-content/uploads” directory has the wrong folder permission.
@ebtamlyn…
After checking what Tara suggested, the next thing to try is to see if there is a plugin conflict. Go to Plugins and deactivate all your plugins. Then go to a post and see if you can upload an image.
I am having the same issue right now FYI. Just spoke with Bluehost and I have plenty of drive space.
Deactivating all plug-ins worked.
Good. Now activate one plugin, go to a post and try to upload an image.
If you can, go to the next plugin and repeat the process until you cannot upload an image.
This should be the offending plugin.
