Unable to use oEmbed

    Hi,

    I have been attempting to utilize the functions of oEmbed to embed Instagram posts and YouTube videos on WordPress posts. I have even attempted to upload videos to my own site and then post them as a playlist. Unfortunately, it does not work. Usually only the link and sometimes gray box displays (if that), but it is an inconvenient and messy way to allow my users to access information. I have experimented with a few plug-ins to embed YouTube videos and my own videos. The best result I got was utilizing a plug-in that displayed a gray box and link on desktop, but for some reason, displayed on mobile.

    When I try to embed on pages, everything works perfectly, but on posts, nothing works. I have also tried embedding Yumpu flipbooks, which I believe should work, as using shortcodes I can embed them on pages and on the sidebar.

    I am using the theme Ad Mag-Lite. Could my theme be affecting oEmbed? I am using String Locator to sift through code, but the words embed and oembed are mentioned many times, so I am not sure what to edit, if anything. I feel like I have exhausted all my available options, even waiting 24 hours to let posts update after I have added my videos and turning off all my plug-ins to see if that would make a difference. Nothing has worked.

    Just to provide some background information, I am utilizing Sitegrounds and earlier, I had experienced a problem where my domain was pointing to the incorrect server, although that has since been resolved. I have been utilizing Google Chrome on Chrome OS and Windows 10 for desktop, and Android on mobile.

    Do you have any other YouTube or similar oEmbed providers running in a plugin? The shortcode [youtube] could result in another plugin not picking up the shortcode due to a conflict, so doing nothing is safer than throwing an error or a blank page.

    Also, have you tried this guide from Jetpack to ensure the shortcode module is firing? https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpacks-modules-on-one-page/

    Beyond of clearing cache on your WP instance (if you have a caching plugin), the changes should be instant.

    I tested your shortcode as it appears in your post and it works perfectly for me on my site.
