Sure, here are complete steps to get there:

    1) log in to the WP Admin Area
    2) visit the USP plugin settings
    3) toggle open the “Options” panel
    4) scroll down until you get to “Categories”

I hope that helps, good luck!

i found it but it did not do much! the only thing i found were a “link” that said “Select which categories may be assigned to submitted posts (click to toggle)”</strong) and when i clicked it i only got the option to choose uncategorized.

Does this plugin support custom taxonomy?

    Thanks!

“i found it but it did not do much!”

The categories must exist before they can appear under the Categories setting.

“Does this plugin support custom taxonomy?”

Nope, but the Pro version can do unlimited Taxonomies:

I’m having the same problem. I have five categories in addition to “uncategorized.” But when users add a post, the only two options are “Please select a category” and “uncategorized”. Under USP options I have “Post Category” set to “Display and Required.”

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, as explained above, you need to enable the categories that you want to display. Here is a step-by-step guide:

    1) Log in to the WP Admin Area
    2) Visit the USP plugin settings
    3) Toggle open the “Options” panel
    4) Scroll down until you get to “Categories”
    5) Toggle open the category list
    6) Select which categories to display
    7) Save your changes
    8) Refresh the form

That’s about as clear as I can possibly make it, hopefully it’s enough to get you there.

Thanks – I was looking for a drop down or checkboxes. Found the link and selected appropriate categories. All is right with the form now.

By the way, this is damn fast support for a free plugin. I really appreciate that and the help.
