Greetings favorably Mods and WordPress users.

I earnestly seek your counsel and would like to resolve this issue as soon possible. I am about to launch my new blog and was doing some testing until I came across the archive page with the ‘Uncategorized’ link.

I am still getting the hang of WordPress and would like to know the purpose of using the ‘Uncategorized’ link? For instance if I click on the archive link, it takes me to the archive page with the old and new post in its order but with ‘Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »’ beneath every post.

Is there any reasons for it to be there, or am I better off removing the ‘Uncategorized’ link?

Please come to my rescue

Uncategoried is just the default category that comes with WordPress. Sidebar links to categories is usually presented either with the Category Widget or the template tag, wp_list_categories(). In addition,the_category() displays category links for each post.

So, you may need to edit your themes to not display those links.

That helps out a lot. I can remove the link for now until I read up on those articles and then I can rectify it later on if needed.
