I just tried to install Autoptimize for the first time, went through the settings recommended by Themify in their blog post (https://themify.me/blog/how-to-score-an-a-on-pagespeed-insights) and don’t think I touched anything else. After that, my site wouldn’t load and gives this error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: popupTriggerClick is not defined
at autoptimize_6249bec1957f2d2316b12dd5f23fc620.js:4

Deactivated for now and it’s back up. Did I set up something wrong, or is there some conflict with another plugin or something like that? Not incredibly web-savvy so not sure what to do.

OK, start with AO enabled but “optimize JS” off. If that works, try enabling “optimize JS” but disable “aggregate JS”. Based on that we can see what the next steps have to be.

That seems to have fixed it already, thanks! Is there anything else I should do or do you think that’s good enough?

well, next up; try “don’t aggregate but defer” maybe? 🙂
