Undeletable admin account

    What have you tried so far?

    Normally you should be able to:

    1. log in using the administrator account you were supplied
    2. create a new account with the adminstrator role
    3. log off & then log on with the new account
    4. delete the original admin account taking care to change the authorship of any pages posted under that account to the new account

    If that does not work, this could indicate something being added but in that case you would have to ask the person you bought the site from for specific details. If you are unable to remove that account, you should at least change the account’s password and associated email address.

    Problem seems to be solved.
    I did create a new admin account, with a password, but the only login that worked was the supplied details.
    The account already in there did not have a delete option.
    I went to my database and deleted the ‘undeletable’ account and this appears to have solved the issue at the blog end.
    Now I have to go in and make sure there are no affiliate links that do not belong to me, (hopefully not too difficult as this is an Amazon based blog).
    Any thoughts are welcomed.
