I understand their purpose, but they don’t show on the list of css assets so I can’t defer them to the footer. So what is Hummingbird actually recommending me to do?
Thanks

Do you have any other cache plugin on your website? If so, kindly disable any other optmization plugin, we don’t suggest using two optmization plugins as it can cause more issues than benefits.

I do also use WP Rocket as it has specific controls for WooCommerce and I had asked in a private email about if Hummingbird could do some of that – specifically NOT caching cart, checkout, user account and other such pages.
I can experiment with disabling WP Rocket and seeing if that helps.
However you didn’t answer my question which was why speed enhancement information show hummingbird as the biggest culprit of load delays when it is designed to enhance speed? See this snippet from Google Page Speed insights. I understand what Hummingbird is trying to do but why can’t these be deferred? https://prnt.sc/v02ju3
After disabling WP Rocket and updating some Hummingbird settings I’m no longer seeing the hummingbird asset objects as interfering with page load speed so that is good. Overall however both GT Metrix and Google Page Speed insights say things are worse. It appears that my host response and other outside sources such as Google Analytics, Social Media Attachments and so forth are the main source of the pain – a bad internet day it appears. I’ll monitor over a few days and see how things go.

All WooCommerce dynamic pages like carts and checkouts are excluded by default.
There is also an additional option to serve cached copies to logged-in users as well.

Please keep in mind that you should avoid having similar functionalities coming from different plugins. This is a general notice, not only specific to performance plugins. Also, when you setup Asset Optimization it’s advised to deactivate all caches first and enabled them back (along with other services like CDN) after the background processes are finished.
