Hi! We are Relevanssi Premium customers and I’m attempting to address some spam and heavy load on the search requests. I’ve turned on logging for the plugin. I’d like to understand two things:

    A) How the ‘hits’ column in the logs is incremented. Is it when the query and IP address are the same the hits value is incremented? Or does it have to be in the same session_id too?

    B) Does the ‘time’ column show the timestamp of the last ‘hit’ or something else?

    Thanks!

Premium support is here. However, your question applies to the free version, so I can answer it here.

    A) The hits column is not incremented. It is the total number of posts found by the query. Each query gets a separate row in the database.

    B) It’s the timestamp of that particular query.

Ohh… darn. That’s much less of a clue than I thought. Ok I’ll have to do some collating of the logs data manually then. Thanks for the response.
