Please provide a link to your site (just the home page) and I’ll check it out. I should be able to gain some insight by looking at the source HTML code of the page. It’s possible you have a javascript error on your site that is affecting the ticker scripts.
The widget settings are only to select a specific ticker that has been created on your site, and optionally show the ticker title. The actual ticker settings/setup would be within the ticker post located on you Dashboard > News Tickers screen (then select the specific ticker).

I have had a conversation with the person who developed this aspect of my site and the problem may be because the new ticker had a dependency on the Ditty RSS Ticker extension, the plugin for which I seem to have inadvertently deleted. Originally I believe that this extension plugin had been free, but now it seems it would require a payment of $15 per annum.
Unfortunately I cannot post a screenshot here but the News Ticker that seems to have been operational is defined as follows:

Type = rss
Mode = scroll
Shortcode = [ditty_news_ticker id=”6640″]

Thanks for the information on your setup. The Ditty RSS Ticker is a paid extension to the free Ditty News Ticker found here on the WordPress repository. If it worked prior to deleting the Ditty RSS Ticker plugin, then you most likely would just need to re-install the plugin and activate it. If you did not personally purchase the license for the plugin (and are unable to obtain the plugin & license from your developer) you will need to purchase a new one here https://www.metaphorcreations.com/downloads/ditty-rss-ticker/
Once it is installed and activated you should be good to go.
