Unexplained empty space above map

Hi, I’m trying to use your plugin to create a national map of events for a WP site.

The only problem is that when I preview the page, after appearing at the top of the page (where it should be) for a second or two, the map drops down the page, leaving a lot of empty space between the page heading and the actual map.

I didn’t add any space in the page editor (actually, I’ve tried deleting anything that might be before the map code), and this keeps happening whether there is intro text or not. In fact, when I add intro text above the map, it also drops along with the map.

I’d like to have the map and any intro text stay at the top of the page, just below the page header.

I can’t provide a link, unfortunately, because I can’t publish the live page before it looks ready.

I’m not a programmer, so I’d really appreciate help of the step-by-step variety. Thanks!
