Unfortunately bug-ridden
-
I used to be a big fan of this plugin – its interface is clean and it has a lot of functions. But the bugs are numerous and not quickly addressed.
Namely, it will make truncated .tar files and not indicate any errors to the admin. This means your site (or your clients’ site) is likely not getting backed up.
Maybe worse, the one-click backup feature creates an .sql file that is somehow different from what mysqldump creates. Not just ‘different’, but not right – site restored with the SQL file that BackWPup makes will not be right.
So, unfortunately, I urge people to steer clear of this backup plugin.
