• Hello Support Team,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with GenerateBlocks Pro (version 2.5) on a fresh WordPress installation (latest version as of December 2025).

When duplicating GenerateBlocks blocks (e.g., Container, Grid, or inner blocks) via the block menu (three dots > Duplicate), the uniqueId remains the same as the original block. This causes the dynamic styles to conflict: changes to one block affect the other, making independent editing impossible.

    • The issue occurs within the same page/post (not just between pages).
    • It happens consistently with pure duplication – not just copy/paste.
    • The common workaround (duplicate the block/container, then delete the original) does not reliably generate a new unique ID in my case.
    • I am using the Twenty Twenty-Five (TT5) theme directly – no child theme.
    • I’ve already tried: Regenerating CSS (Settings > GenerateBlocks > Regenerate CSS Files), clearing all caches (browser, plugins, server), testing in incognito mode, and deactivating other plugins (only GenerateBlocks and core active).

This makes working with duplicated sections very frustrating.

Is this a known bug in the current version, perhaps related to compatibility with block themes like Twenty Twenty-Five? Or is there another workaround/fix I might have missed?

I’d be happy to provide screenshots, exact version numbers, or a staging site link if needed.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards

    Hi there,

This is not the expected behavior. Please open a new thread in the Premium Support forum, as we are unable to provide assistance for paid plugins on the ww.wp.xz.cn support forum. We will monitor your post there.

    Thanks!

hello man ive had the same issue as u, in my case it was the https://imgur.com/2hfWGbt “show template” on issue. Whenever the show template is on the duplicate id issue persisted, try setting it off and check if the ids are still duplicating cause for me it completely fixed it, ive even had the topic opened up for this 4 months ago, ive found the issue msyelf and it was approved from the support that this is a glitch.

    Thanks for the hint!
I can confirm this behavior. I tested it as well and the issue is indeed caused by the “show template” setting. As soon as show template is disabled, blocks can be duplicated and edited without any issues, and no duplicate IDs are generated anymore. Many thanks for sharing this — it finally solved a problem I’ve been struggling with for months. So this definitely seems to be a glitch related to that option. Hopefully this helps others who are running into the same problem.
