Unknown ‘google product category’ value.

    I have two issues:

    1) When I add a new Feed even if the Category shows Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Food Items > Seasoning & Spices, when you save the product, the default category goes to ”
    Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Seasonings & Spices > Herbs & Spices” which the google feed complains because it doesn’t find it, of course, its missing the “Food Items” separator.

    2) When I try to edit the category, pressing edit on the “Default Category” the combo box appears blank, it’s not filled with the categories, I don’t know if this has to be with the fetch of the information with my hosting or its a known issue.

    Hello @aldocastromx,

    It is possible that you selected the second item from the category list to quickly. When you select the first item (level) it takes bit of time (less than a second but still) to load the second layer of items. Sometimes when you select the second level before the first level is loaded this causes issues in storing the correct category which can’t be corrected afterwards.

    Could you try to make a new feed and after selecting the first level wait just a moment (two seconds should be more than enough) before selecting the next levels and check again if that works correctly.

    Hi Michael,

    Yes, thank you, indeed, if you select a subcategory too fast, it will ignore it and there is no way back, I had to re-do it and wait a few seconds to select the categories and it worked.

    Yes, it’s a known issue that is on our list to solve in one of the coming updates.
