    Hi @odinn,

We are working on optimizing the scripts in UM to reduce number of scripts and improve speed.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I’ve added a viable solution to WP Clips/ClipBank. It combines and minifies the CSS stylesheets and JS scripts of the Ultimate Member plugin and any active UM extensions (free while in beta).

    Hi.

Installed both files, and… it takes 5x longer to load now.
Do I need to fiddle with some settings?

Of course issue may be site specific….

@odinn It’s not just you, I tried @krolyn clips as well and it just made the side twice as slower(the page when from 17s to 35s load time), i was really hoping this would work because my client is complaining about the load times a lot :/.

@odinn @helloqro The issue should now be resolved. I’ve created a new Clip. Simply download the new version and install. It will overwrite the previous Clip. After installation, be sure to clear all your caches (server and browser).

Just a quick note. The combine/minify process and file creation is triggered on first load of the page (and occasional conditions as per the readme). So, after installing the Clip, the first load on the front page and any one of the site’s other pages will show a load delay. This only happens once and only for the first user to access the page.

Please let me know how you go!

@krolyn well , now everything is broken, I disabled the 1.0.0 clip from the clip admin setting, then uploaded the 1.0.1, and then, my site broke down …

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare clip_um_combine_minify_styles() (previously declared in /home3/misantan/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-clips/precoded/clip-um-scripts-combine-minify.1.0.0/clip-functions.php:39) in /home3/misantan/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-clips/precoded/clip-um-scripts-combine-minify.1.0.1/clip-functions.php on line 43

uh, HELP!?, I removed the clip form the site, nothing, removed the plugin from the site, nothing what am i supposed to do now ?.

@helloqro – can you access your backend via file manager or FTP? Just go into the WP Clips plugin’s /precoded/ folder and delete the unwanted Clip (1.0.0). This shouldn’t happen. I believe you might have had a cache plugin installed that is creating the problem. But, this solution should resolve it. Let me know. I’m here to help.

@helloqro Also try disabling your cache plugin by temporarily renaming its folder.

@krolyn, nvm I was able to use a site backup to restore to a previous point, in any case, it works, thanks, did shed a bit of stuff off the load but the page is still loading slowly, sadly there seems to be something else, probably the theme, loading a bunch of js and css :/

@helloqro Okay. Glad you’re back online and it’s working. Feel free to contact me through the WP Clips website contact form and send through the web address. I’d be happy to take a look at the source code for you.
