Help! I scheduled a post for release this morning. I decided to release it earlier but could find no way to cancel the schedule and immediately publish it. So I changed the time to an earlier one but it did not publish. I panicked and ended up copy the whole thing to a new post and publishing that while deleting the scheduled one. How do you unschedule a post; how do you change the scheduled time and get it to kick in — i.e. work?

  • Edit the scheduled time, save it and then “Update Post.”

Thanks. I changed the scheduled time several times and updated the post, but now that you say it I’m not sure if I “saved” it first. I’ll test that out.

Just stumbled on the answer. WP clock is 2 hours behind the local time. So it didn’t post anything because it thought it had 2 more hours to go and I thought it was time. Now I just have to figure out how to tell WP what time zone I’m in! Thanks again.

Set the offset as necessary under the general settings.

    ..perhaps that will help..

I just want to say that Mark’s post solved my problem. I live in Sweden and just had to change the UTC timezone to +1 from the general settings and everything works fine. Love wordpress.
