Update
-
I have a note in my dashboard to update Paid Memberships Pro, not just on my plugins page; every page. If I try to update it I get this error message: ‘Error while running update: [error] Function not found: 1. Try refreshing. If this error occurs again, seek help on the PMPro member forums’
Does anyone know why this might be ?
Thanks

Hi there,
I apologize for the issue you are experiencing.
I would recommend in manually upgrading the plugin via FTP.
** To upgrade a plugin manually **
1. Download the latest version of PMPro here – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/paid-memberships-pro/
2. Login to your site via FTP
3. Copy the files intowp-content > plugins
4. Overwrite any changesThis should update your PMPro version.
I hope this helps.
Thanks Andrew
I am just moving host, so I will make a note to try this when the site is ready
Have a good one !
Andrew
You’re welcome π
All the best!
Hi Andrew
Migration was painful but complete. I tried what you said but strangely the version was already the latest and after overwriting I still have this alert in my dashboard that I need to update ?? Any ideas ?
Hey!
I’m sorry to hear that, I think you should deactivate and reactivate PMPro. (You won’t lose any data)
This should take away the update notification hopefully. I’ve experienced something similar with other plugins before.
If it’s asking for an update of the same version number that you currently have you can ignore it as it is the latest version π
Thanks again Andrew
I already tried deactivating and reactivating but unfortunately no joy. I guess I can just ignore it but if you think of any ideas they will be welcome ?
One more thing, do you happen to know if Paid Memberships Pro is compatible with the new version 3 of the theme – ‘Javo Directory’. V2 used PMP but the author seemed to think it would be a good idea to develop V3 for Woocommerce but as most directories I take subscription payments and moving to woocommerce subscriptions would cost me $199 p.a. ?
PMPro is compatible with all themes. However if the theme bundles PMPro and adjusts the page templates for PMPro, the theme is responsible for fixing those issues. π
I am uncertain about Woo Subscriptions pricing and you will need to contact Woo to assist you further with your queries about woo subscriptions.
Interesting. So I might be able to add PMP as a third party plugin. In v2, PMP is bundled in but in V3 it isnt it is designed to work with Woocommerce but it isnt bundled in so maybe adding it as a 3rd party plugin could work. Difficult to be sure though, as the themes author is not providing me any support.
Dont worry about the woocommerce thing I’ve done as much research as I want to with them.
Sorry to hear that.
PMPro does work with any theme, even the default WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme π
Hope this clears things up. We are looking into why it’s showing an update when you are running the latest version, although I’ve now experienced this with a couple of plugins so it may be a bug with core and not plugin related.
All the best, please mark your ticket as ‘solved’ if this issue has been solved and do not hesitate to open up a new support thread should you experience any further issues π
Have a great day further!
Thanks buddy. will do. Have a good one
