We just updated to the latest version of WP Filebase on a multisite and many of the pdf files we had on the site were deleted. These files were located in uploads/filebase/(different subfolders). This is the second time this has happened. The first time, we thought it was because WPFB was network activated. That has been remedied. The frontend category lists still show links to the files, and the directory structure to the subfolders still exist, but the files are no longer there. We were able to FTP the files (from a backup) back into the appropriate folders and they work again. Can you please help me figure out why our files located in subdirectories are getting deleted?

So WPFB is no longer network activated? Are you using the same upload directory along mulitple sites?
If so files that are removed from one site’s backend are deleted from the filesystem so they are not available for others.

Thank you so much for responding. I’m embarrassed that we missed such an obvious setting. Yes, WPFB is not network activated, only site activated. And we did have files from multiple sites residing in the default filebase folder. We we told by the editor of one site that files from another site were showing up with theirs. So now we’ve concluded that that editor must have deleted the files from the other site. We’re currently reworking all of the sites to have their own upload folder. Thank you again. I think all is well!
