Hi! I logged onto my website today and saw the 4.3 update was availible so i clicked on it but when I wanted to auto-update, it returned a 10sec time-out (PHP error). Now I can’t access my website at all. There used to be a .maintenance file, but I deleted it. Now all I get on each page is:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare debug_fopen() (previously declared in /home/a7401799/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php:1133) in /home/a7401799/public_html/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 2883

Here’s the link to my website: Squared Design

Please be descriptive in how to fix it 😉

You have a partial upgrade. Download a fresh copy of WordPress and upgrade the files on your site manually using the newer files.

Oh and, how do I deactivate my plugins via FTP?

Nope, the data should be fine. The important thing is just to make sure all the WordPress files get updated.

You can rename the plugins folder temporarily to deactivate all the plugins. Just rename it back when you’re done.

There we go, so I don’t have to replace the “plugins” and “themes” folders in wp-content?
    And, what does this mean:

Step 7: Upload all new loose files from the root directory of the new version to your existing wordpress root directory.
