Hi @rasworpr,
Sounds like some other plugin might be using polyfill or Symphony and that’s causing issues.
If you know which other plugin uses Polyfill, temporarily deactivate it, update GiveWP, then reactivate that other plugin.
If you have a staging/development site do it there, just in case.
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your reply.
Any idea how to determine which plugin use it?
Thank you,
Richard
Hey @rasworpr,
While it definitely could be another plugin causing the conflict, (and the method to determine that would be to deactivate all of them and see if GiveWP will activate, and then reactivate the rest of them one at a time to see where the conflict comes in), I’d lean more toward that very old server architecture being a large part of the problem. IIS 7.5 is more than two years beyond being supported, and I have no way to test on an IIS 7.5 server to be able to isolate a potential problem.
Every time I’ve touched an IIS server that’s even the least bit out of date (and sometimes even on updated versions) it’s been a frustrating experience because the best word I can use to describe it is “finicky.”
If I were you, I’d consider putting your donation platform on a more secure, linux-based server.
Hi Meredith,
I looked at the plugins folder and found a couple using polyfill.
I will disable them and if it fails I will do a test on a linux box. It may an issue with IIS. As of which OS is best is up for debate.
Thank you for your help.
Richard
Hi Meredith,
I was able to install the update by disabling two plugins. They are “Presto Player” and “Site Kit by Google”.
Thank you for your help.
Richard
