  • This is actually a hosting issue. The size of the update is greater than the memory limit they’ve set for your account. The sure-fire way to fix this is to contact the host, describe the issue, and ask them to increase your memory limit.

    I have heard that some users can get around this by deactivating their plugins just prior to upgrading, to get the size down, and then reactivating and updating them after you are on the new WPP version. Helps if you have a lot of plugins, but really, you should have your host help with this so you don’t have to jump through such hoops.
