Update loop WordPress 5.1

    Hello.
    Updated to WP 5.1 today and the database won’t update.
    I click the “Update WP database” button, and the page turns white after a few seconds and the page goes down. After a while it gets up again and as soon as I click to make a new post or the panel I get asked to update the database again, and it won’t happen, just the same loop. Felt it would update in the background even if the page turns white.
    Can’t find a fix around this. (Cleared cache, deactivated the plugins etc)

    Hello

    If you install the Health Check plugin, it has a Site Status overview which will give you a general understanding of potential problems that may prevent updates.

    OR manually update the db_version in phpMyAdmin to the version number that you find in the version.php in wp-includes directory:

    $wp_db_version = 44719;

    Hi.
    Thank you for this.
    I can see that the version is correct and the the update looks like it’s been done. But the database still won’t do the update. Can’t activate or run the Health Check as I can’t get into the panel. (Have uploaded it though FTP though, but cant access or run it).

    Did you try to manually update the Database version?

    Yes. No luck there.
    Will try to downgrade to 5.0.3 again.

    Got it back to 5.0.3 and now it works properly.
    So I guess I wait until 5.1.1 is out until I dare upgrade again.

    I am sure WordPress won’t release version which has such issue. There might be some minor issue which needs to be taken care of. In case I would suggest having one dev or staging env with you where you can play with.

    everytime I update to 5.1.1 the whole site goes down. I have to restore from snapshot to bring the site back up. should I just leave the site on 4.9.10?
