Update notifications not working and version missing
-
Ever since I upgraded to 3.5 (was at 3.4.x – I upgrade to each new version soon after it’s released), the notifications of new versions of WordPress and any plugins is broken.
In the dashboard, there’s no notification button in the top bar or the standard black number “button” for theme or plugin updates. If I go to the list of installed plugins, the “Update Available” filter does show plugins that need updating.
Also, if I go to Updates screen (I’m running a WP Network/multisite), it doesn’t show the version of WordPress that’s running. I see a dash where the version should show up, both in the text message and the link/button to download it.

You have the latest version of WordPress. You do not need to update. However, if you want to re-install version –, you can do so automatically or download the package and re-install manually:

I was able to do a manual update to 3.5.1 but that hasn’t helped. I’m not running any plugins or modifications to hide the version.
Anyone have any ideas what’s blocking the version and update notifications?
Thank you, in advance!
Dan
