I have recently installed Defender on my test website. I followed the recommended configuration settings and was presented with an issue that needed resolving.

Looking into this further, I saw that it was that my PHP version was out of date which is odd, as I have already updated the version of PHP that both my websites use to 7.4.6 using my hosting provider’s tools.

Defender is reporting that I have 5.6.37 installed and recommends 7.3 or above.

However, running phpinfo.php on my hosting platform shows that I have 7.4.6 installed.

Why is there a mismatch being reported by Defender?

Is there any server-side cache on your hosting which you could clear and check again?
