• I have this message at the top of my dashboard:

Please set the permissions on this folder (/home/content/29/7955429/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-mobile-detector/cache/) to be 777 to allow the WP Mobile Detector to work properly.
Execute the following command via SSH:
    chmod 777 /home/content/29/7955429/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-mobile-detector/cache/

How do I do this; I am a bit of a novice when it comes to wordpress so step-by-step instructions would be helpful.

    thanks!

  • Firstly please establish for yourself that this advice is from a trusted authority and that the plugin “wp-mobile-detector” is legit, mode 777 is very generous.

It is unlikely that you have SSH access. More likely you manage the website either through FTP or from a web hosting management control panel, in this case the “File Manager”. Whichever you use, browse to the folder “wp-content/plugins/wp-mobile-detector/cache/”, and change the access permissions to 777 or Read+Write+Execute for owner+group+everyone.
