Update problem

Hello,
I have got a problem when i tried to update the pluggin.
It didnt work for an obscur reason (i dont remember) and now, i cant find it anymore in the list of updates. So i tried to reinstall it and when i do that, I have got this message :
“Le dossier de destination existe déjà.L’installation de l’extension a échoué.”
In english, it says ; “the destination folder already exists, The installation has failed”
I’m a beginner, and i dont know what to do. And i’m afraid I have lost all my backu are on google drive…
Can I just delete all the pluggins folders using filezilla without being afraid to have a problem with my last backups files and parameters (links with google…)?Is there a solution for this problem ? If yes, many thanks !
