Hello Yvette90,
Trust me there is no problem with the new update, contrary to that the plugin become 10x better, as it now got more code enhancements, wordpress editor plugin to generate shortcode smartly, and more responsive improvements.
Don’t forget Wwaving Portfolio is using tags to select items and then it uses category button to let you browse your selected items, having two different variables to generate portfolio lists (tags, categories) made the plugin powerful in the sense that it can generate numerous and flexible variation of portfolios from few portfolio items.
And also from now on, make sure you use the WordPress editor plugin to generate shortcode, to make sure you are not having any miss-formatting shortcodes.
Actually one of the most common complaints I get from users is related to miss-formatting and miss representation of portfolio items using both tags and categories.
There is new update 1.2.3 I encourage you to use it, and then update your shortcodes, portfolio item’s tags and categories according to your need. Your problem should be vanished by then.
Let me know if you still have any concerns by giving a link to your portfolio page to be able to spot what you are missing.
Thanks 🙂 and I wish you good luck
Affraid i still havent got it up and running
did exactly as explained above.
So the website is a furniture product portfolio.
So the first tag is “accessoires” which is also the first main category
and the items are assigned to several categories to create the sub division
Now i have generated my code with the WordPress editor plugin and generated the following short code
[waving tags=”accessoires” theme=”light” width=”250″ showCat=”true” clicking=”false” all=”true” ]
But now sadly the entire page doesnt load anymore whereas with the old page atleast the portfolio was visible
http://compact-concepts.nl/accessoires/
a page with the old short code to compare
http://compact-concepts.nl/multifunctionele-bedden/
any idea what i’m doing wrong?
Hello There,
I am sure your problem is not with waving-portfolio as it has been tested extensively lately without showing any miss-functionalities.
I noticed there are couple of errors in your website, and this will cause Waving Portfolio categorization button to stop working:
One of the serious errors is this:
http://maps.googleapis.com/maps-api-v3/api/js/22/11a/main.js:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘offsetWidth’ of null – main.js
