Note – I think this happens only when someone is in the list but unsubscribed, and therefore potentially needs to be sent the mailchimp special signup form… would that explain this error?.. many thanks, Tim

    Hi Tim,

I’m investigating this now… I think the unsubscribed bit is definitely a key factor.

The status of these subscribers in your MailChimp list is unsubscribed and the subscriber was the one who unsubscribed, right? (As opposed to the admin manually unsubscribing or deleting people.)

    Let me know.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Hi Tim,

I have a guess as to what the issue is. It sounds silly, but I think the issue might only happen when an email address has capital letters in it. Do you have a fake/test email that you’re using to test this process? If so, are you able to share that with me? Or are you able to test it with capital letters and lowercase letters and let me know if this makes a difference?

    Let me know.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Tim,

I’ve just tested this operation myself and can confirm that capital letters inside the email address are creating the same error that you described.

Please let me know whether you think this is the same issue or if you’re dealing with a separate issue.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.
