Same here!
I just rollbacked so that my pages that contain a tablepress shortcode load properly. I got 500 error in the console after updating to the latest version.
For info, I use Divi but it does not seem to be @veenm’s case.
Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
It would be great if we can find out more about these errors. For that, please set the
WP_DEBUGconstant totruein your site’s “wp-config.php” file, see https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#wp_debug , or maybe check the server’s error log file (if you don’t have access to that your self, you web host company’s support team should have access).Regards,
TobiasHi @veenm, hi @nicolasricher,
if you are having trouble locating that error log file, please get in touch via the email from the bottom of https://tablepress.org/pricing/ Thanks!

TobiasHi Tobias,
We’ve had a similar issue this morning – firstly:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function is_block_editor() on null in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/controllers/controller-frontend.php:243 Stack trace: #0 /public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): TablePress_Frontend_Controller->add_datatables_calls(”) #1 /public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(334): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #2 /public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(517): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /public_html/wp-includes/script-loader.php(2208): do_action(‘wp_print_footer…’) #4 /public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): wp_print_footer_scripts(”) #5 /public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(334): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #6 /public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(5 in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/controllers/controller-frontend.php on line 243
And after turning on debug:
Notice: Function register_uninstall_hook was called incorrectly. Only a static class method or function can be used in an uninstall hook. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.1.0.) in /public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5905
Hi @danmarsh,
thanks a lot, that is very helpful! That first message is indeed coming from TablePress, but the second one is coming from a different plugin.
It seems like I’ll need to improve an error condition. An update with a fix will be available shortly!
Regards,
TobiasHi @veenm, @nicolasricher, and @danmarsh,
I just released TablePress 2.1.7 a few minutes ago, which contains a fix for this bug.
You should be seeing the update on your sites shortly. It would be great if you could confirm if errors disappear with that. Thanks!
Regards,
