it causes problems
Can you be more specific about the types of problems it’s causing for you?
New posts added that have “page links to” set do not render as the destination link on the frontend anymore, just the short url permalink. This also breaks the “open in new tab” functionality.
Oddly enough, old posts still render correctly, so long as you don’t touch them.

On WordPress 6.3.1, I just made a new post, and set the Page Links To value. The link my news archive uses the value from Page Links To, and is working as expected.
When the “open in a new tab” functionality doesn’t work, it’s usually caused by an ad-blocker extension blocking the new-tab.js file from loading.
If Page Links To isn’t working on new posts for you, I encourage you to try it with a core theme and no other plugins installed. We use it on literally hundreds of sites and it works as expected with the most recent (and previous) versions of WordPress, including on brand new posts.
Thanks for the quick help!
My javascript wasn’t being blocked, but I did discover that another plugin (permalink manager) must have updated in a way that overwrites the “Page Links To” link being rendered in place of the post URL.
Once I fixed that, the new tab functionality worked again as well.
It would still be nice for this plugin to be refreshed/checked for compatibility with the latest WP/WP standards.
Seriously not having any problems at all in latest WordPress version.
I second this request.
@madtownlems It’s working just fine on WP Version 6.4.2, however it needs to be updated so that WordPress doesn’t cut it off the list. Additionally, Wordfence is now giving me a sever warning stating “The Plugin “Page Links To” appears to be abandoned.”
How can we resolve this?
