Updraftplus causing conflict / crashing site

    Updraftplus Version 1.25.2 installed. php 8.3, wp – 6.7.2

    Updraftplus seems to be clashing with gravityforms, not allow users to use the send button on the forms. If we try and disable updraftplus the site falls, over / we get the critical error warning from WP. If I rename the plugin via file manager the site falls over as well, so I can’t delete / disable / deactive the plug-in. I’ve deleted scheduled backups and settings in Updraft, but still causing the conflict and still not allowing me to delete / rename / deactivate the plug-in without getting the critical error message

    Any suggestions about how to work around this would be very much appreciated.

    Hi there,

    I may be wrong, but from what you have described this doesn’t sound like a plugin problem.
    If just deactivating is having this effect there is likely something more fundamentally wrong.

    I would suggest checking your php_error_log in the WordPress root folder if this is available.
    Otherwise you will need to set up debug logging to capture the events around the crashes.

    Have you tried disabling/renaming the plugin using FTP? It sounds like WordPress is unstable.
    FTP is also another option to view, or add code to generate, log files if admin in unavailable.

    I’ve checked my error log and getting allowed memory size ….. bytes exceeded errors, so have bumped that up, and this seems to have allowed me to disable the plug-in. Weird that I could disable all other plug-ins (except updraftplus) via WP / CP file manager without the critical error.. Still can’t get the gravity form to send messages but I’m working on that…

    Good you identified the issue. It’s very difficult for us when we can’t access the server to look.
    With so many variables at play with each site it can be a real challenge to pinpoint the issues.
