    Hi Jane,

Can you please upload the logs again? It appears to have been deleted already.
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
Please use an online service such as GoogleDrive, Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Regards,
    Bryle

I can add this: I tried turning off ALL plug-ins except this one and tried to run it that way, but the same results happened. I hope there is an answer. If not, can anyone recommend another backup plug-in? (UpdraftPlug worked flawlessly until this happened).

    Hi,

Thank you for sending the log.

I can see that the backup gets timed out or killed off.
Could you try to reduce the backup archive split size? To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 25Mb save your settings and run a new process.

Does the backup successfully completes now?

    Best Wishes,

Thanks so much for your suggestion. I did what you suggested, and it did not work. Here is the log:

    What should I try next?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Jane,

    Apologies for the delay.

I can see that the backup gets halted while backing up the database. In most cases this is due to the server resource limit. Please ask your hosts/server admin to increase the limit (I/O limit, maximum_execution_timeout and site memory) or ask them to investigate their PHP error logs. These logs should contain more information on the exact issue that is causing the backup process to halt.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

Since the very same date, my updraftplus has stopped working, litteraly like @birchbox.

The process starts then get stucks.

My host has 512 Mo of memory available, 60 seconds of execution time and no recent changes have been made. Apache error log is empty.

I noticed that updraftplus’ support provides systematicaly the same answers:
    Response 1: provide the log
    Response 2: lower the chunks
Response 3: must be a problem with your host

I think I’ve never seen any different sort of response made to your users…

Thanks, jcv. I don’t know what to do, but it is somewhat comforting to know I’m not the only one with this problem! Jane

    Hi!

@psykonevro UpdraftPlus has been designed to be dependent on your server resources. You can check our FAQ here: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-much-resources-does-updraftplus-need/

We do follow a procedure when troubleshooting an issue.

@birchbox Have you already contacted your host? Do you still get the same issue?

I was finally able to get my host to increase my server resources, and I’m happy to say that the backups are finally working. Thanks everyone who gave me help. I really appreciate it! Jane
