What version of WordPress are you currently running?
Backup your database and then use the auto-update option in Dashboard -> Updates.
Hi i thought that would restore my site back to standard ? i have made changes to the header and style sheet and some other files
Have you modified the default Twenty Ten theme?
Then you will have to make a copy of the theme and turn it into a new standalone theme. See Theme_Development
Hi is this hard to do because if it is i will just leave it alone and not update it
It’s not that hard. If you do not upgrade, you will be running a very real risk that your site will be hacked. The very worst thing you can do is stay a couple of versions behind.
ok will have a look at the link do you know a fast way to do this ?
There is no “fast way” – only the right way.
Ok so if i had used a template theme for the changes i made i could just upgrade and then activate my theme again and everything would of been ok ?
Hi think i have done it i downloaded the twenty ten theme renamed it mysite then uploaded it back and did the update and activated mysite theme and all works great
Thanks it was so easy to do
