Upgrade Automatic takes forever

    check your internet connection.. is it slow?

    Also, make sure the FTP details are correct.

    The details are correct and my internet connection is very fast. I also tried upgrading on my dad’s computer but it did not work. It did on his computer for his site however.

    question: if it’s “automatic”… shouldn’t it be? I don’t know anything about “FTP details” being correct. Should I? If so, tell me how to check this, and what the correct details are? Or should I hang my head in shame and go bk to wp.com? (Remind me again why I am torturing myself with wp.org?)

    Deactivate your plugins before attempting to upgrade. You may also want to switch to the defaul theme, update and then revert back to your current theme.

    In all instancess backing up your files and database is a must so is the deactivation of all plugins.
