Upgrade to 3.6 returned error

    Today from GoDaddy dashboard, I tried the upgrade option to new version 3.6.

    It took a while and gave the customized GoDaddy error page.

    After that, both my Blog and BlogAdmin site was showing below error:

    The service is unavailable

    After few minutes, when I tried accessing my Blog and BlogAdmin site it is now showing the below error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wp_convert_bytes_to_hr() (previously declared in D:\Hosting\1234567\html\blog\wp-includes\deprecated.php:3364) in D:\Hosting\1234567\html\blog\wp-includes\media.php on line 1146

    Unfortunately, I have not backed-up my earlier version! What are the ways to troubleshoot my issue and bring my Blog site up and running?

    Please help!

    Hi,

    Please try to deactivate all the plugins and change back to Original theme through your FTP.

    Way to deactivate all plugins and change back to original theme:
    Plugin:
    Open an FTP program such as Filezilla and connect to your host server. Open /wp-content/plugins folder. Delete or rename the plugin folder and the plugin will be disabled.

    Theme:
    Open /wp-content/theme folder. Delete or rename the activated theme folder and the default theme will be activated.

    Tried renaming /wp-content/plugins and /wp-content/themes folder one by one… but it didn’t help.

    I am still getting the below error when I access either my Blog site or BlogAdmin site.

    Should I raise a ticket with GoDaddy? Will they assist in such matter?

    Hello Moderator! I know that you “might” be in expert with WordPress stuff. But please try to help users and give proper directions instead of quoting the problem and just ending your Post.

    That was my personal feedback for you!

    OK, now coming back to my problem… I see that I might have read the instructions differently.

    Does the instructions meant that, if I had 10 plugin subfolders and 5 theme folders in it. Then I need to rename/delete all these 10+5 subfolders?

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Is that clear enough?
