Upgrade to 4.2.2 iSSUES

    I have a slight dilemma in that i can’t seem to update my WP installation to 4.2.2.

    The update hangs at Enabling maintenance mode…
    Plugins hang at Updating…

    I’ve tried disabling all plugins
    re-activate one by one and attempt an update.
    no joy.
    hangs at Updating…

    Tried a manual update…
    1. Download and unzip wordpress.
    2. Delete wp-admin and wp-includes dirs off the server.
    3. Upload from unzipped local.
    4. Overwrite files in root.

    Result – could not access my site or wp-admin. Just a blank white page

    Uploaded backed up files- site back up.

    Tried update to 4.2.2 from admin again.

    This time not even got to Enabling maintenance mode – just the Update WordPress title.

    BTW I’ve checked my server and don’t have a .maintenance file.

    I’m stumped. Can anyone help please?

    In the end my solution was to rename delete everything…upload 4.2.2 via FTP. upload wp-content from my backup.
