Not sure if this has already been posted elsewhere (did look but couldn’t see it). I’m running WordPress 3.0.1.

Tried to upgrade originally from version 3.0 through dashboard but nothing happened. Got the usual downloading then unpacking wordpress message but then nothing happened. Managed to upgrade WordPress manually in the end. I’ve since tried to upgrade the plug-ins I am using and the same thing is happening. Tried to upgrade stats pacgage through dashboard and get the message ‘Downloading update from ‘http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/stats.1.7.5.zip…’ on the upgrading plug-in screen, then get the message ‘Unpacking the update…’ and then nothing happens. Tried again disabling any plug-ins etc and still no joy!

Anybody ever have this happen before and manage to get round it?

    Thanks in advance!
    Jon

  • Not really got a suggest for you i’m afraid but I do know that upgrades failing does occur sometimes and is can be related to insufficient memory available for php. However that normally crops up when upgrading from 2.x to 3.x because the newer version has slightly higher system requirements. Not sure if 3.0.1 has a higher system req than 3.0.

Thanks. Upgrading from 2.x to 3.0 was fine no problems, would the lack of PHP memory also cause the upgrading of Plug-ins to fail as well?

Not sure how but got it working now!
