Upload extra per-image data
-
Hello again and thanks for your past help! I am trying to get a csv set up to upload extra per-image date for images to be attached to a page. I’m not sure what “The second column must contain the identifier you assigned to the layout field that contains the image” means. At first I thought it was the image file name, but that didn’t work. What data should I plug in here? Thanks again.

When the image was uploaded, you used a layout that contained a field for the image. You gave that field an identifier — maybe it was “filename”.
Then put “filename” in the second column.Ok I did try that, and got the following error list (the text/numbers are from the third column which is the title (is this case test titles). So something is wrong with the third column which are titles?
[W001] Item WP Item ID: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
File is not in correct format – please read help.
Item 463: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1024
Item 464: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1280
Item 465: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1440
Item 481: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1024
Item 482: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1280
Item 483: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1440
Item 487: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1024
Item 500: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1024
Item 501: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
Unable to find matching field for identifier 1920
Image Data for 0 items successfully saved1024 is not an identifier. Whatever column you have 1024 in, it is expecting to find something like “filename”
Actually, the csv file had some extra columns on it which I deleted. This is the message I now get:
[W001] Item WP Item ID: *** EntryWizard ERROR ***
File is not in correct format – please read help.
Image Data for 9 items successfully savedIt does say the image data was saved, though
I do have the fifth column blank

Did you leave a header line in the file? It doesn’t expect one.
That was it thanks!
Is it possible to send a one line of the CSV file you used I have been tying to get info uploaded but get different data than what I want.
There are 2 infos one on the image and one on the file name in the manage area and they both can have different title caption info.Is there a way to change the data uploaded if it is not correct I saw bulk data delete but it removed the image from the form.
Just finding it a frustrating trying to get images onto a page to show scores and judge comments
TIA
DAn CI realize that the csv upload is not easy for a non-technical person. You will need to read the help item very carefully. Please let me know if any part of it does not make sense to you, and I’ll try to rephrase it in the next version.
You can paste the first couple of lines of the csv input here (it’s just plain text – open the .csv file in a word processor after you have saved it in excel) and I will see if I can spot any obvious errors.
You can also edit the titles/captions/descriptions in the WordPress gallery

after
you attach the images to the page. Just click the “pencil” icon in the gallery. But remember that if you do that, you may have to edit the shortcode again if you want to use the .csv method to add more data — see the help item at the top of the webform item list.
HI Joise
It has been awhile since I looked at this so I gave it a try today
OK I have the csv upload ok as I now see added data to the images I did an upload to.
on the page I send it to using EW atch image to page I will get this
[gallery size="full" ids="13404"]
Notice the entry number in EW is 2933 the id number is 13404 on the page
when I look at the Media file in Gallery I do not get any of the update data but just the file name under title caption etc see image2.pdf
what am I doing wrong?
Just trying to get the images to the page is no problem just updating the scores and HM and author is time consuming.
Thanks

Hamilton Camera ClubI’m wondering if perhaps you already had the images attached to the page before you uploaded the info.
Attaching the image to a page creates a copy of the image and its data at the time you do the attaching.
So you need to upload the csv file before attaching the images.
Could that be the problem?
I have gone in a created a few pages and still get the same results
I just created 2 new pages one without anything did an update then used EW to add images to it. then I went in and added [gallery] to show the images still same thing
the other I made the page added [gallery] then use EW to add images same results
I am going to see if I delete all instances of the image in media area and try that it may be just updating from the previous image and not updating with the new data from EW
this is what I get on the above 2 pages
I deleted all instances of the file in media library and did an new add to a page now I get a image name with copy see
I checked and there is no other copies of this image and here is the image page as in WP
not sure if you can view it as it is an admin page file
