• After 2 days of trying to find answers to this problem I may have found a solution for the windows box users. I am new at this and I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot in the forum sections so please let me know if I did this wrong. Well back to the solution. Ok you know the problem right? You go to upload media to your server and you get the error of not being able to write directory etc. right? Well here is what I did to correct the problem. Go to your wwwroot directory. right click it. Pull up the properties window. Make sure you have Users and IIS_(yourserver)Users in the security box. If you are running your own server they are most likely in there. Just add the additional tick to the write box do not tick full access. I did this and it finally worked. I have a 2008 server sp-2 box. Just because those 2 users have write access doesn’t mean that wordpress will let them do mischief. I hope this helps.
