    I am getting this error message in the wordpress dashboard after migrating my site.
    Upload folder is not writable. Export and file upload features will not be functional.

    can anyone tell me how i can fix this?

    yes, i know i have changed the permission from 755 to 777 and that doesn’t fix the issue. any ideas?

    Then it’s your web server issue, depending on what kind of account it is running as, ask your host to change it.

    i run my own server using virtualmin. what type of web server issue?

    I think you are having issue with PHP execution mode. Maybe incorrect useraccount was set for CGI or FCGId if this is what you are running as.

    If running as mod_php, 777 should have worked.

    initially i was having a server error and change it from FCGid to mod_php. so yeah it should have worked!

    Maybe Virtualmin wasn’t able to change it properly… for some reason. Somestimes it has glitches. You can try to test it by creating a New Virtual Server or Sub Server, so see if it has the same issues.
