upload to wp-uploads through ftp

    Hey everyone. Is there a way to upload to the wp-uploads folder by using a ftp program and have it seen in the upload manager in the WP. Meaning if I use an ftp program and upload it to wp-uploads and be able to see it in the browse section in wp.
