• whenever I upload an image to my media library they become broken and display the broken thumbnail, however if i edit the image in the crop or resize window the correct image is displayed.

i have tried force regenerating the thumbnail, uploaded smaller file sizes.

whenever i go the url provided by the media library it gives me an 500 internal server error.

  • Have you tried uploading another file type, like a JPEG or a GIF?

Perhaps the server is having issues serving certain kinds of images.

Is it possible for you to access the server error log?

thank you @artemiosans for the reply

i have tried different file types and same error, i have been trying to access the ssh and grant full permissions to the wp-content/uploads folder but it keeps on saying Operation not permitted. my htacess file is unwritable so i can not increase the size limitations, but the images i am uploading are under 2mb.

Are you able to check permissions on the files before and after you apply the crop? Perhaps the images get uploaded with one set of permissions, but those change when the image is modified.
