HELP ME! Uploading a theme

    I downloaded a new theme to my computer and I am trying to upload it to wordpress so I can change over. I am getting this message when I try “The package could not be installed. The style.css stylesheet doesn’t contain a valid theme header”. What does this mean?

    It would appear that the theme you downloaded is not a valid WordPress theme.

    So, I can only use WordPress made themes? What a bummer! I really liked that one better than anything I found in WordPress. I am now wishing I would have gone with another web designer site like my friend recommended.

    WordPress sites can only use WordPress themes. Drupal sites can only use Drupal themes etc. etc. This is how content management systems work. Why not turn your downloaded template into a WordPress theme?

    Because I am a complete amature and have no clue what I am doing. I have to keep things as simple as possible and still try to make a good looking site. Is there a youtube video that can show me how to change it?

    You could have a look on http://wordpress.tv/ but if this is just a basic site template, then you may find that this will be a little beyond you. Have you reviewed the 1,500+ free themes in http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/themes/
