    Hi

I reinstalled WP on my site. There are many images. I started working on the theme and plugins when I noticed that the images were not showing in the mediate library. I tried two plugins without success. I added some images and publised a post and added an image to a page. Then I realized that I did not upload the database I’d downloaded just before I reinstalled.

Can I just now upload the database or do I need to start over? I have a lot of images of my artwork so it takes quite some time to re-upload them.

    thanks

    Gary

  • You could first take a backup of your new installation’s database, so you have it ready if you want to switch back.

Then I think it’s a good idea to upload/overwrite your database with the one where you have all the Media. It’s much easier/faster than having to re-upload all the Media by hand.

Finally! It was hard uploading the database as it is slightly larger than permitted by PhP which has a limit of 50meg. Is it possible to up this limit?

    thanks for the assistance

This got me back to the problem I had before. I can not add blocks! No plugins are active.

Somehow disable Visual was checked in User settings.

If your hosting provider allows you to tweak PHP (or PHP.ini) settings (in cPanel maybe), you should find the entry upload_max_filesize and post_max_size, and increase them.

If you consider the issue resolved, please give us a reply and mark it as Status: resolved.

    Thanks!

Matter resolved. I increased those limits but still PHP showed a max of 50meg and would not upload the DB. Support team uploaded it for me.

    thanks again
