    Hi Team,

I’m looking to have files uploaded to our WordPress and sorted into the proper title, alt tags, media tags, and media categories automatically through python.

I know alt tag and title editing is available through the metadata.json but idk about tags and categories.

Is this all possible, and if so how?

And another question: does the custom URL refer to setting a custom URL for the image? How does it work exactly?

    Hi @babashrug

For the tags and categories, currently, there is no way to add them to the images automatically as you upload them using the script. You will need them to be first uploaded before you can add the tags and categories.

For the second question, the custom URL enables you to add a URL that can be configured and used later on when the image is added to the gallery whereby the visitor can be redirected to the URL when they click on that image, or the URL can be opened in the lightbox when the image is clicked.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

    Hi

    Thanks for your prompt response!

What about after they’ve been uploaded?

For example if we upload them to specific folders or by using formulas from the file name that correlate to the categories and tags they should be in, and then sweep checking media without categories and tags after uploading to automate this?
