• I’m using wordpress by logging in through a website I’m posting content on. Using the browser to create post and when trying to upload images to put in the post I get an HTTP error. Can anyone tell me what causes this? How can I get around it without downloading wordpress on my computer? Since I’m not the site owner do they have to issue me permission to upload under some setting?

    Any help would be appreciated

  • You don’t need anything installed on your computer to use WP – it’s all done through the browser.

    What is the site URL?

The site is nukethefridge.com . They use wordpress to do their posts. I just got my access to it today. When I’m using the browser like safari, I don’t see any buttons that allow me to add images, I even tried the featured image and I still get the same HTTP error uploading there.

Sounds like you should ask them about it – there’s usually a “Media” section – http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Administration_Screens#Media. That’s not visible on the dashboard?

no I don’t see it, all I have is Post, profile, comments, tools. So I’m guess when they added me they didn’t give me access to upload media? Thanks for the help, hopefully it’s just an issue of admin.

Yeah, that’s what it looks like to me too.
