• Hi,

I’ve just been trying to get an offline testing version of my blog on my laptop.

I’ve got everything working, copying the blog files and database from the live server- the only thing I can’t currently get to work is file uploading. I’m using MAMP to run PHP and mySQL on my machine (an Apple MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.6.1)- not sure if this is relevant.

What seems to be happening is that the uploaded files end up in a folder called ‘data01’ at the root of my machine’s hard-drive, rather than in the correct place inside the WordPress blog folder.

Can anyone give me some pointers as to what might be going wrong? I imagine there’s some setting in a config file somewhere that now no longer points to the right place, but I don’t really know where to look for it, unfortunately. Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    alx

Don’t worry guys, I’ve fixed it.

looking at threads to my problem going live from local host MAMP dont seem to be much info…I noticed you solved the problem yourself but dont say how? I will be needing to do this in the near future so any hints on going live? Is there an automatic process…wouldnt that be good thanks in advance Peggy
