    Hi all,

I’m looking for a solution for a performance issue I have in my website:
Our website is a marketplace, where users sell their stuff.
Every image they upload (~3MB) takes ages to be saved in the system.
The image upload time is about 20secs!!!

I’m wondering if tinypng provide solution for that part as well?

    Hi!

Thank you for reaching out to us! There could be a number of reasons for uploading images to be slow. If you already have plugins that compress newly uploaded images but are not doing it in the background then that could explain the image upload time being so high. With the Tinify plugin you can enable background compression so that the user doesn’t have to wait for the compression while they are uploading the image.

If you don’t have any plugins interacting with the images during the upload process and uploading is slow even for users on a fast connection then perhaps it’s worth reaching out to your hosting provider if there’s anything causing the slowness with file uploads on their end.

A good way to test it would be to create a copy of your website where you can test without breaking anything, and then disabling every single plugin you can. If uploads are way faster then enable the plugins one at a time, each time testing if uploads are slow again. Once it’s slow again you know that the last plugin you enabled is the culprit.

Just installing the TinyPNG plugin will not magically make the upload process faster, all we promise is that it won’t make it slower — and viewing the images on the website will be much faster because of the compression process.

If you would like some more help or information please don’t hesitate to send a more detailed email to [email protected].

    Have a great day!
